Project Milestones

Sunday attendance leaps from 3,800 in 1999 to 12,900 in 2006. Church services also multiply from two to four Sunday services, motivating the search for a bigger location.

On 11 May, Rock Productions, NCC’s business arm, submits a proposal to build, lease and operate an iconic integrated hub at Buona Vista. It is to be a tool for kingdom use – to show that our God is a big God who loves to bless His people and wants more people saved and transformed!

On 7 September, Rock Productions wins the tender to build, lease and operate the venue. The church will then be the anchor tenant and use The Star PAC’s ample spaces for services every Sunday.

Official ground-breaking ceremony for The Star takes place on 30 October. To mark the beginning of the construction of The Star, more than 100 guests comprising Singapore government officials, property analysts, entertainment and arts practitioners, CapitaLand’s associates as well as the media gather to celebrate the event!

The Star is awarded the Building and Construction Authority’s Green Mark Gold Award. The award ceremony takes places on 27 May and is in recognition of the building’s environmentally friendly features in design as well as construction.

Amid hundreds of entries, The Star is awarded The Cityscape Award for Architecture 2010 for outstanding design. Each entry was reviewed and assessed by a panel of high-profile, international judges before the winners were announced. The 2012 Awards gala was held at the Grand Hyatt Dubai on 5 October.

The Star PAC officially opens on 1 November, and NCC holds its inaugural services there on 23 December!
